OCTOBER FUN

Okay, so here is a little posting about a few of our fun Halloween activities we did this year. The Saturday before Halloween we used our Zoo passes and went to "Boo in the Zoo" for the first time. They had face painting and costume contests and were handing out candy, but most of all they had PEOPLE! I have never seen it so crowded! It was actually just OVERcrowded and the kids were a little overwhelmed, I think, so we didn't stay very long. But here's a cute picture of Zach and Libby by the giraffes. Libby is Little Red Riding Hood and we got Zach a cute pirate costume, but since we were going to the Zoo we figured we would just use Libby's old giraffe costume that day. He wasn't a big fan of the hood, though!

Then that next Monday for Family Home Evening, we went with Nate, Mallory and Landon (Steele) to the Linder Farms pumpkin patch to have the kids pick out some pumpkins. It was such a fun place! Tommy and I had gone there a week or so before with the youth to do the corn maze and we thought it would be fun to bring the kids back. They had a free little hay bale maze that the kids could run through, free wagon rides around the pumpkin patch, a little train, and mini doughnuts that were to die for! We loved it! We couldn't get Zach to stay on the little train, but other than that I think the kids had a ton of fun! We want to make this a tradition.

And here's Libby with her second annual painting of the pumpkins! Zach will probably join us next year, but tonight he was just enjoying his favorite place-his bed!

Trisha and Jeremy were in town for a couple of days, so the kids and I actually got to go back to Linder Farms that week during the day with all of the Steelman cousins and that was a lot of fun, too, especially for Libby. We even got to go to the little petting zoo that time. Then on Halloween night we all got together at Tiffany's house to go trick or treating in her neighborhood. This was the first time that we did anything other than our ward Trunk or Treat, so that was kind of fun to do something different. Once we got to Tiffany's house we realized that there were two pirates and two Little Red Riding Hoods! Pirate Bailey and Little Red Riding Hood Aubrey! Libby thought that was kind of fun. We got a picture of Zach and Bailey together but forgot to round Libby and Aubrey up for one as well. Too bad! Anyway, Libby just had a blast going door to door with her cousins, but Zach spent most of the time following behind in the wagon. (He was pretty tired.) Every so often, though, he wanted to go up and get some candy, especially if the house had a dog! We even got him to say "Thank you" (his own version of that, of course) at each house! He was seriously just darling!

Kids are just so fun!!
