March 2009: Salt Lake Trip

March was a welcome break from February, thank goodness. About the second week or so, the kids and I headed down to Salt Lake to go visit my family, and the newest member of my family in particular. My sister had her very first baby in February (actually the same day that Zach went into his seizure), a baby boy named Jack, who was just darling! Even though he was a couple of weeks old by the time we got there, he was still tinier than any of my babies were when they were born. I just couldn't get over how cute and tiny his little legs were! And the kids, of course, were just ready to maul him! Poor thing! I think Zach thought he was just a little doll like the kind Libby plays with at home, and he was intent on sticking a binky in his mouth.

We spent almost two weeks there, and it was so nice to really get a chance to spend some good time with my family. We got to see my brother's new house, my grandparents, some cousins, some friends, and even got a chance to visit Hogle Zoo and Wheeler Farm. The kids especially loved taking the wagon ride at Wheeler Farm and the Train at the zoo. Here are some pics:

Tommy acted like he was really suffering while we were gone, but he did very well occupying himself with work, church work, racquetball, basketball, shooting, and even a full day of NCAA championship playoff games that were here in Boise. He had multiple dinner invitations and even some good friends who dropped dinner off to him one night. Thanks to everyone for taking such good care of him while we were gone!

Even with all of the fun, we really did miss being together as a family. Libby was especially vocal about missing her Daddy the last couple of days we were in Salt Lake. She told me multiple times that she missed Daddy, and she would walk over to my Dad and sit on his lap and say, "I really miss my Daddy. When am I going to see him again?" and the day we left to come home she jumped into the car and shouted "Yay! We get to see Daddy today!" (Tommy loves this stuff.) Good month.

you look so cute with your very little belly. That's fun you got to visit your family for so long. That's cute that Libby missed her daddy so much. I'm glad everybody is doing well-especially Zack--Ahh! that's so scary. Tell your family hello!
